Access from Off-Campus
Remote access to databases is available to current students, faculty and staff of UM - Helena with valid ID numbers. You do not need an ID number to access the library catalog.
- First, select an online database. Then you will be prompted with a screen to enter your 9 digit UM-Helena ID number.
- Once you login, you will be connected to the selected database.
Please note: If you are also taking classes through MT Tech, you may need to use your MT Tech student ID number instead of your UM-Helena student ID number.

Schedule a Research SessionIndividual students may reserve a one hour session with a librarian to assist them in their research projects. Sessions may include:
- Focusing the scope of the topic.
- Identifying terminology and techniques for constructing an effective search strategy.
- Identifying books and articles with relevant information.
- Using databases effectively to access and organize information.
